Notes from Dec 2012 group

CHRISTMAS IN CONNECTICUT

1945 movie with Barbara Stanwyck, Dennis Morgan, and Sydney Greenstreet

An unmarried food writer who has lied about being the perfect housewife must try to cover her deception when her boss and a returning war hero invite themselves to her home for a traditional family Christmas.

It was a hit.  We liked this romantic, comedy story which had twists yet seemed realistic even today.  The group loved the 1940’s clothes and hat styles during the WWII era.  The characters were humorous and well-acted, even the secondary actors (ie Felix and Nora).  The heroine is a good example of an independent female with a good job whose personality changes.  Everyone loved this fun, black and white movie.
